The SCWT Genetic Research Foundation is a 501 3c corporation that raises money via donations to support viable genetic research for Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier health. There is no fee required to use the site. Breeders and owners of SCWTs interested in the genetic health of Wheatens around the world are required to login with a username and password approved by the database manager. Access to the site allows one to:

look up your dogs and create pedigrees up to 10 generations

see photos of Wheatens from around the world

calculate Coefficients of Inbreeding (COI) and Ancestor Loss Coefficients (ALC)

generate trial pedigrees for possible matings

look up a potential sire's or dam's siblings, half-siblings, and progeny

easily view duplicate dogs in pedigrees

generate reverse pedigrees

The scwtpeds.com database is an edited compilation of dogs from breeders around the world and from published sources. Every attempt is made to ensure accuracy in providing you a complete genetic record of all SCWTs used for breeding. We hope to:

supplement scientific research with accurate pedigrees

give breeders access to as many SCWT pedigrees as possible

give breeders a visual record of these SCWTs

improve communication between breeders about health issues

software is used to maintain the SCWTPEDS data. Much of the European and early pedigree information is recorded here in large part thanks to Dr Neil O'Sullivan.
